Rethinking Intelligence – Lecture on the Societal Challenges of AI
Machine support systems have become indispensable today. However, the emergence of artificial intelligence raises the fundamental question of the extent to which intelligence can be manipulated or even generated. Against this background, it is important to discuss the extent to which the concept of humanity itself is mapped in AI. What impact will digital technologies have on our future society?
The evening offers an in-depth perspective on the very societal challenges that come with the increased use of AI technologies. Marie Decker of GDI encourages rethinking our approach to AI and developing innovative approaches to create a positive and equitable future with AI. In this context, key issues such as resources, work and power, data, and algorithms will be highlighted to highlight the urgency of a moral reassessment when dealing with AI. Axel Siegemund, Professor of Boundary Issues of Theology, Science and Technology at the Institute of Catholic Theology at RWTH Aachen University, will ask about the conditions under which we humans trust and distrust an AI.
